Problems faced while working on Walden paper?

As English learning never ceases, it always gives new opportunity to learn and to feel like “wow” I never knew this. A learning journey is such a long destination and huge vision, and it gives us such great knowledge and has our mind blowing, stretching, and exploring even more.

In addition, in my learning process, in order to complete the action paper, I am struggling with a concept of effective writing, especially dealing with Walden’s ideas. Another challenging part is identifying each chapter’s main ideas. In my last project response essay, I had hardships on making ideas and constructing them according to full requirement. Well, I also have a feeling I need to work a little more on paraphrasing, summarizing, and especially, avoiding plagiarism. My enthusiasm always encourages me to learn new things and gives more strength dealing with problems. Despite all difficulties, I am going to be excited to learn more and be able to achieve my goal. I feel like the learning is receiving; being able to complete assignments simultaneously is delivering

Finally, all I want is to focus on working hard on class lectures. Giving extra time, learning more about requirements accordingly, and gathering more information about the action paper project will be the greatest task throughout this semester. I may need to focus more on MLA style and Work Cited, paraphrasing effectively, and summarizing for the action paper project. The hard work definitely will help me to achieve goals.

The concept of learning discourse community

I became aware of learning so many things in writing world. In fact, I have learned more than I thought I would, and I am very surprised on how hard actually working on discourse community essay and concept of writing—mainly in contexts— to get this semester done, finally this course has helped me tremendously to understand what actually the discourse community is and to overcome my fear of writing. At first it was unknown about how to write five pages essays about discourse community, but the slowly learning process helps me writing essays broadly. It was very hard to understand the concepts that teacher’s requirements regarding discourse community. I got to dig myself harder to get it and complete it. There are so many things that I have learned from this class, but One extremely important is that knowing very clearly about discourse and academic discourse community. At the end of the semester I think my main strength as a writer is the ability to vividly describe what I observed and have experienced. To me it is a big success.

What I liked about this course is easy learning method. The way professor teaches is so simple and understanding, and direct point of interest to the chapter/course. The most importantly what I liked when I work with writing is applying all elements that I learned such as, writing concept—how and why people write— and become familiar with knowing requirements of assignment. Knowing introduction:  three parts bodies: main idea, support concluding sentence, and Conclusion: summarize, prediction, and emphasize helped me add more contents on essay. I learned quick learning techniques and understanding of the writing method. That all writing rules that I have learned and have been precisely used in my discourse community essay put me next level of understanding discourse community.  Even though, I was associated since birth with the community, I never realize and understand the concepts of discourse community, but Dr. Myers, my instructor, has helped me to understand clearly about it. I now have understanding as a big picture of discourse community.

I began noticing what other elements are involved in the discourse community. My involvement in the community that was great opportunity to learn so many things, and now I have sense of how people communicate, what are their outfits, what kind of food they eat, how many languages they speak, how is their language accent, how people bond with each other in the community, what community’s rules and what is their mission, and eventually what all the discourse community about. Knowing activities from the community that make a sense to me helps to increase up to academic discourse community if I want to develop it. I now can differentiate what discourse community and what academic discourse community. Having clear sense of both discourse communities will help me significantly in my future endeavor.

 As a writer it is my greatest strength in writing process is being able to gain abilities and include appropriate contents in writing world with understanding of the contexts and process. Now I have improved on critical thinking, planning, and composing in correct way. These would be great assets for me to exist in American writing world. After writing essay I usually do some process to make the essay perfect.  Also I have built concept of revising and editing that I always let others to revise and myself, and edit accordingly. Hopefully this would bring me a success in my next future classes.

           I strongly wanted to improve upon focusing on contexts. I understand the creative idea is very important in writing. It is always hard to create ideas of situations in my writing. I know once get an idea, it will be easy to develop so that readers to interpret easily and identify the concept of my writing articles.  One of my biggest goals when I began Eng-1101 was to learn how to understand the context of articles, how to create ideas to write effectively. This course has helped me immensely, significantly gained confidences on real writing concept, and taught me lots of writing skills. It is definitely going to help me in my future endeavor and corporate job.  I’m so happy to get this course in this semester.

Republishing Controversy

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, a novel by Mark Twain, Published in 1884, is considered to be one of America’s best example of regional literature and the Great American Novel (Twain). It has been taught in American school for generations. However, big controversy arose recently after Mark Twain scholar Dr. Allan Gibbon republished the novel. The new version has the substitution word “slave” which is the elimination of 219 occurrences of the N-word. On the one hand, Dr. Boyce Watkins, Professor at Syracuse University who has been on several television show to tell why he agrees with the idea of rewriting Mark Twain's—"Huckleberry Finn"—believes the books should be censored: On "The Joy Behar Show" Dr. Boyce Watkins said it needs to be updated because of 219 occurrences of the N-word also expresses, reading over and over same word is a trauma.  On the other hand, Marc Lamont Hill of Columbia University disagrees with the revisions and feels that we are squandering an opportunity to talk about American racial life.

Dr. Watkins said and many others want to offer a censored version of Huck Finn. He said, “The original works will still be there if one wishes to read Mark Twain's own words.  The n-word appears 219 times in “Huck Finn” and four times in “Tom Sawyer.” Twain scholar Alan Gibbon’s revised versions replaces the n-word with “slave” and “injun” with Indian. He also states that “Those who stand adamantly against any type of filtering for any art form in any context for any age group have a long fight ahead of them, since we are consistently deciding which movies, songs and video games are appropriate for our children. There is a multitude of ways to teach the atrocities of slavery to young people without using Huck Finn, the same way I can teach young people about the horrors of rape without forcing them to watch a rape in process.” He is strongly enforcing that updating version of novel is absolutely correct and is easy for every students to read without hearing the repeated race word.

He also means that censorship is wrong, but Huck Finn’s taking N-word out is not purely censored. He says new updated version makes teachers, parents, more likely to teach it. Only hearing too many times same words makes him disturbed when he was teenager. He wondered even that why African-American are the only ethnic group forced to read classic literature that uses such offensive language toward us in a disturbingly repetitive way. He did not want to hear the same words again and again.  He also stated ”the reality though is that if we were teaching a class on say hip-hop and politics and we used the famous song by NWA "F the Police" which I consider to be a classic when you talk about the link between race, hip-hop and politics and police brutality. If that is being played in the public school system, there is no way they would play that song without editing it even though the profanity in the song was critical to getting the message across." One of the reasons that issues raised is that the book is being taught for children in school which is not appropriate because they are not able to understand the fully meaning of satires and concepts of the words. Twain’s intention was to teach universal truths such as racial intolerance and struggle in society for the time, all of which would not be understood or appreciated by children. Moreover, N-word used many times in the novel which children cannot understand the real context of the word that used in the situations. That is why the controversy raised and claimed for updating because children cannot understand the N-word’s context. In reality, this book is for mature audience and conceptually advanced for them.

On the other hand, Dr. Marc Lamont Hill of Columbia University strongly disagrees with the revisions and feels that we are squandering an opportunity to talk about American racial life:

“If you give somebody the opportunity—particularly white people, the opportunity to not use the—to talk about the N word, to not talk about race and racisms and white supremacy, they`ll take it. Every school district in America will avoid getting the book with the N word in it. And we squander an important opportunity."  

He emphasized that why focusing on censorship instead why not contrive to better teaching method.  He says that the book is so much about N-word. If it is taken out, there will not be original value of the novel that Mark Twain stated. It is also about context as it was written in century before, so today’s children can suffer to understand the actual meaning and value of the word. That is why he emphasizes that teachers should come up with explaining the word’s context. Why the word had been used so many times. The situations where each word used should clearly illustrate the context. Obviously, there should be something very meaningful reasons the author used the specific word so many times. That is why the original author Twain had used them otherwise the great American writer Twain did not used them. The most common critique of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is the overuse of the widely offensive n-word. However, the novel’s purpose is to illustrate the racism of the time period and to show the challenges of treating blacks as human, not to promote racism in general. Republishing The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to replace the n-word with “slave” is unnecessary censorship on a classic novel and would deprive the book’s readers of learning how widespread racism was in that time period. Although the n-word is used two hundred nineteen times throughout the novel, the main purpose is not to encourage racism today, but instead to convey the racial tension that existed. The fact of the matter is the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is not a racist novel. In addition, repeated, the use of the n-word is solely included for historical purposes; it also illustrates the struggle of society to accept the humanization of blacks. Even though it was republished, readers would not have the opportunity to learn original lessons, and ultimately censor classic literature. According to Dr. Marc “when you take out the N-word, there is no longer the book. So much about this book is N-word and so much about this is navigating the race in this historical moment. Of course this book is favorite about lost, debt, sorrow, but it also about race if that takes out its denial student anti to talk about something really important” Now the time is to understand, not to debate over the issue.

On the whole, I strongly agree with Dr. Marc Lemont Hill. A classic novel like The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn should not be republished and censored because it is not a racist novel. Moreover, this book is for mature audience so that they can appreciate its deeper truths, satire, and the concepts of Mark Twain on society and America in the 1840’s. Republishing the book meaning that would lose accuracy of the time period, which Twain wanted to convey to his readers. Although many argue that the book is inappropriate for children, the book was not intended for kids and that is why we should understand the value and not assert that the book be republished rather we should deeply think of Twain’s key concepts and take benefit from the lessons that he included behind the characters and plot. In addition, the context should be clearly meaningful to today’s readers so that they can have an opportunity to understand why the word had to use many times. As Dr. Marc said we are supposed not to squander instead we should think broadly how to improve better teaching, not changing the book. I think, We now have to rethink about it and come up with something new idea that can get started teaching in school again with the teachers’ new open minded to illustrate the real meaning so that students can have an opportunity to understand the Mark Twain’s key concepts. I also agree with stated Mark Twain’s quote “The difference between the almost right-word and right word is very large; it is the difference between a lightning bug and lightning itself. So he did not want them changed. In fact, we should honor him.”

Newa-Guthi Discourse Community

The discourse community that I have been associated with since I was born is called Newa-Guthi. Newari people are regarded as indigenous population of Nepal inhabiting since the 14^th century. One of its biggest gold is preserving traditional heritage. Because of an inheritance membership system, every child born as a male becomes a member of the Newa-Guthi automatically. That is why demographically there are all youngest to eldest people in the group and mostly same Newar caste family as an ethnicity. One of the biggest reasons the members are dismissed is that if a member gets married to someone who belongs to other community or other caste, he is dismissed for lifetime from the Newa -Guthi discourse community. I am so glad that I am part of this Guthi because Newari character is the taste of society and has the similar kind of nice, gentle, humble attitude that are exemplified as the Newar society. No one ever lives with isolated because everyone is delighted by pleasant nature. My Guthi is traditional social organization and I have been involving with various functions that include events, activities, and traditions. I see that the preserving heritage is the biggest responsible of this Guthi and its aspects are traditional music, dance, and costume along with religion, festivals and rituals, and language.

            The Guthi clarified that the Newars are the first rulers of Nepal. Since then, the Newars are still living in Kathmandu. Newars have mongoloid physical characteristics, and they are very friendly by nature. The mongoloid belongs to Tibet linguistic group; possibly the origination with the Kiratis that were a tribal hill people who came from the East, Tibet. Although the leaders of the Guthi community are stereotypical, they accepted the fact that Newars were a mixer of different other people who were attracted to the Kathmandu valley. They restricted to be only Newars caste. Even though, many people who migrated from different state to the valley, they are not allowed to join this group. Newar language and cultures became Newars’ traditional ancient heritage. This brought cultural and lingual diversity among the Newars. Their living standard is pretty much formal, and the most striking characteristic is their love of communal life. Since Newari culture is reach of traditional cultures. They are humble and always ready to exchange their emotions. Their houses are surrounded with religious significance as they have many religious festivals throughout the entire year.  The people who are in Newa-Guthi community speak Newari language also known as Nepal Bhasa. According to the researcher, Nepal Bhasa shares the features of Kirant and Tibetan dialects of Northern Himalaya.  The Colloquial term used every day by native Newari speaker is called Newah Bhaye. It involves five major dialects and several sub-dialects spoken by Newars within the Guthi community. Very few people used slang and rough language with only their age of group not allowed to use with elders otherwise their behavior becomes bad manner and may impacts bad with family too. This language is spoken since 12^th century and it has independent expression. One of the great prevalent in this language is standard dialect that signifies respects and discipline. 

            There are many Hindu and Buddhist deities in Nepal. Some of them specialize in curing diseases. All members of the Newa-Guthi are strongly associated with religion, no matter whether it is Buddhist or Hindu. Their daily worship and pray follow throughout the entire year. As there are many temples in the valley, all are belongs to Hindu and Buddhist, and as far as people from this Guthi community, some are Buddhist then some are Hindu. I used to visit different temple and pray all deities. Ganesh, Shiva, Buddha, Kumari, Manjushree, Ajima are prevalent deities in Nepal. I pray every day Ganesh who is known as first praying God among all and represents intelligence, wisdom, discipline, and sincerity.  Likewise I pray to different gods with different aspects most community people do. Praying and worshiping is common and everyday activity within community, so mostly people have pleasant relationship. However, some people within community are insincere because of their uncivilized manner, and it has badly impacted in the Guthi.

            Furthermore, the activity that I was involved with the Newa-Guthi community was their traditional culture such as music instruments and dance.  The most popular category of traditional musical instrument is Basuri Baja and Dhime Baja which is important for most of the festivals. Basuri Baja is also played during wedding ceremonies, but it is optional for such occasions. The community provides the training of the music instrument and the traditional dance for young people so that the community can utilize into various functions, and I got that training and participated in many functions. I learned typical Newari music and associated with it for a couple of years. Various kind of traditional dances are performed according the occasion. As this Guthi community is service oriented, it provides services to member’s family as the need in any traditional function. For example, if someone is getting married, the Newa-Guthi community provides the band with music instruments and resources. In term of resources, all members are informed about the marriage function and male members should involve on the event.  If they do not show up, they are subject to be punished or applied for certain fees. This is considered as the rules

            The Newa-Guthi has been involved with traditional festival that starts with Gathanmungha and ends with SithiNakha. There are many festivals throughout the entire years that the community people celebrate within the group. Dashain and Tihar are the most first and second national festival of Nepal, and the community celebrates these festivals enthusiastically. As many activities involve with these festivals, I happen to be involved with all activities and is full of fun. During the national festivals, not only Guthi Community’s people are free from the work, all nationwide people; one thing they all do is enjoy all the time. It is really such a nice festival, and I am proud to be part of it. Buying new clothes, eating different varieties of food, and visiting each other family is the main prevalent of the festival. You can you see smiles in everyone’s face and are filled with happiness with no stress or tension. Because of national holiday, it is become even more enthusiastic celebration.

            Life is a series of celebrations for Newars. From birth to till death, even after death, numerous rituals have to be followed. Newa ritual is equally important as festival. Some the traditional rituals are birth, birth ritual starts from the following day of a child’s birth. The first ritual conducted is termed as Byankegu which is carried out on 4^th  or 6^th  or 10^th  or 11^th day of birth; puberty rite, named Barah Tayegu or in other terms Surya Darshan(sun sight), in which a girl is kept inside a dark room for 12 days is called also Gufa that is why this ritual occurs in groups; married, marriage in Newar society is conducted according to a typical Hindu manner; mostly being the arranged ones by the facilitator Lamhi (agent); jankoo, Newar is believed to start a new life that of a living as God at the age of 77 years 7 months and 7 days. The jankoo ceremony performed earlier in their lives at the age of five or seven months; is performed again for the aged men and women and is called Bhim Rathaarohan, marking their second birth; and finally death rituals, when a Newar person dies that belongs to the same community, a series of rituals have to be followed. The funeral system includes various religious rituals which are extended to the next day of funeral. From the funeral system to the rituals of marking 7 days (Nhyanuma), 9 days (Gunu), 12 days (Ghasu), 45 days (Latya), 6 months (Khula), 1 year (Dakila) and 2 years (Nirha). Then finally finishes the death ritual. I know it is pretty rigorous to follow these rituals. That is why today’s new generation people stop inheriting the rules like specially on death ritual is very hard to follow.

            On the one hand, I feel proud of being Newar and part of well-known community in Nepal; on the other hand, there are so many rigors to follow in term of traditional festival and rituals as stated above. In today’s technological age, it comes to very hard to embrace the traditions that the Newa-Guthi community has because new generation has different prospect and visions. Their ideology has been totally different than the people who are running the community and are stereotypical. Even though I have discussed with the community leader, I have not been able to convince them that we need a new rationale that directs and helps to create new direction, but they never tried to understand that it can help put the community into new management and new society.

Express myself through writing

Express myself through writing

Writing is the huge ocean. There are so many ideas, factor, ages, demographics and even more to write about, and people are knowingly or unknowingly associated with writing world. People’s association on writing can be seen e everywhere: for communication, for updates and timelines, for writing books, movies, and even for a professional living. For instance, most people write poetry or storytelling do so because they want to express themselves and just another perspectives of personal feelings. Self-expression takes many forms, but poetry and storytelling are two of the purest forms. What people write will always be an expression of their inner self feelings. I think most of us notice that expression is not always a simple task, and it takes a lot of understandings. Anyone who sits down to write will know how hard it is to find the words to express exactly what they want to convey. People usually spoken are often very close to their feelings, but rarely seems to express them perfectly. I am a perfect example of a person who has hard time expressing of actual inner thoughts and feelings that hard to convey what I exactly want to say. There are couples of reasons that I encourage myself strongly to be able to write American standard. In order to live in America, I should be able to write American standard if I want to write what I feel and express my feelings properly. I think in order to exist in American writing world, I must overcome on poor English grammar that not hurts my self-expression, poor academic vocabulary, and a lack of efforts.

Being creative and able to write and express help myself achieve my goals more effectively, so writing and speaking English well can put me in another pathway of success. The English grammar area, my consciousness is always becomes active because it is the most important foundation of English speaking and writing world. I began noticing that poor grammar never puts me in the success path that I always dream of that is why I focus on English grammar and know that it will help me both well writing and speaking. I started considering a journal every day to practice grammar, make a writing habit, update my timeline, and importantly, I can record my emotions day-to-day. As we know grammar is one of the several other sciences of language. It has specific parts and laws that how and why they are used in writing sentence and speaking. Once grammar—eight parts of speech: Noun, Adjective, Verb, Adverb, Pronoun, Preposition, Conjunction, and Interjection—become master, I can use them properly then I can feel I would be one of perfect writers. I also feel that being master of grammar is not enough to be perfect writer, it also considers become familiar with creativity, context, emotions, and audience. One of the biggest reasons that I start writing is because poor grammar hurts self-Expression. I feel so awkward when speaking in front of corporate people. I began to notice Learning and practicing the basic rules of grammar and style is a key to self-expression. When I began to know and accept the rules of a language, those rules become tools for me instead of barriers.

Furthermore, becoming familiar with academic vocabulary is the important improvement areas that will help me increase better understand of surrounding words. I am sure this will me write even better and readers would understand what I actually want to convey. As I always open to observing new vocabulary words, ready to practice them and dedicated to using my knowledge in my day-to-day writing world, and this consciousness is always active when I start working on pouring my thoughts through writing. As my English is second language, it will only become easier if I put it to use most of times. I basically pay more attention on the words what I don’t know while reading or listening or watching TV. Once I began knowing the meaning of the words, it gives me feeling that it is developing a feel of flow of language and help using them appropriately. Knowing the right word to express your thought is an essential element of good writing and definitely, these developing feeling would help me making and encouraging a better writing world and is a great motivation to write.  

Likewise, in order to write well it will take me put more efforts as there are no way around to make it easier. The efforts take the big roll when anything to be master. I can feel it, as I write more frequently and work more on editing process, it will become better and give me the satisfaction. My understanding is that there is no way to be automatically perfect at writing as long as I set my goal to become adept at expressing myself through writing. Even most professionals spend a lot of hours a day writing, I ask myself why not I put even more hours a day writing to be perfect writer. As we know writing is big challenging task, there would not be enough years of practice to express everything I write be worth reading for audience. As a writer, before putting more efforts on writing, it is extremely important that knowing the context. As I put more efforts on identifying the audiences, I will help me more easily to make worthy articles. I found the key is that keep developing ideas, keep learning new things, and never stop writing. When I feel, have gained significant writing experience, I can cultivate and take advantage of inspirations as it comes. 

            As grammar is another science of language, it helps me immensely in terms of perfect writing and has a lot of beneficial to both writing and speaking.  Being able to exist in American writing world, I have gained significant learning process on grammar and using it appropriately, different techniques of learning new vocabulary and understand all surrounding words, and finally, writing efforts that keep writing habit have encouraged me to be able to exist in American writing world. Another biggest feeling that I have is how to write, how to create, and why do we write is the great inspirational technique that everyone can demonstrate their feeling, talents, even professional work through writing. For instance, people write storytelling, poetry, business policy documents, governance documents, and other so many reasons. My writing inspiration is to be perfectionist on expressing my inner thoughts properly, freely, smoothly, even fluently. In addition, I get inspired by reading others written book. I learn so many writing techniques from the reading, and I take a look back at my writing stories and essays, and I get inspired from them as well. Even more, I may sometimes combine them to be able to try to generate a more profound and artistic writing. Being able to be creative and value my opinions and personal ideas help significantly on my creative writing. Moreover, I feel that it is very important to receive feedback from others and use my own judgment to maintain and make it originality. As we know that creative writing often stirs the emotions of the readers. Finally I take notes of creating writing tips and try to boost my talent to a higher level in American writing world.

The evolution of life history

The evolution has impacted in my life significantly by so many different ways. I faced so many difficulties and as well as worthy circumstances. Good moments go smoothly, but very hard to deal with bad moments. My child labor experience, bad financial condition, working in casino Nepal, computer education and career, and further advance academic education is amazingly outstanding experiences. As we know, there are many positive and negative things happen in the life. Some of them remain entire life, never forget. One of the things that I learned from the life’s experience is the attitude of never give up and accept the challenges until you get what you want the destination. We know that even small mistake makes big difference in life, and impacts the consequences to all other areas as well.

To begin with, I was born into a middle class family and low financial background with seven siblings. I went through very hard circumstances in my life and started child labor at 5^th grade. Because of the low financial situation, I had to work since then. When I was in 5^th grade, I started working at video parlor for first time and worked at same place for 12 years. I was very honest and hardworking child. I used to complete work assignments sincerely in timely manner without any rejection. One thing I still remember is that one of my cousins always turned me down because my hand writing was so bad although I was an indomitable person, and everybody liked me and my working activities.. He always criticized and dominated me on my handwriting, and I did not want to succumb. I took that as a challenge and my thought was “I would show you my excellent handwriting one day”. I started working hard on it. Everyday practice of writing could make a big difference.  After couple years, all consequences have changed. My hand writing became better day by day, and I started getting positive feedback and liked by many people. Finally, one day, the cousin said, “Oh your hand writing now looks excellent”. If he did not say that, my hand writing never would have become better. I realized that day that it could possible to turn the weakness into the strength. Beyond work, I was very fun loving and complete entertaining person. I like making jokes, talking to people, singing songs, and dancing. As I grew up, I became an important person within my group friends. If anything occurred, like problem or suggestion needed, all my friends came to me, and I provided them the right solutions.

After my high school graduation, I quitted the video parlor job where I worked since childhood. One day, I decided and opened my own business. Basically, the business is about video renting parlor like the blockbuster here in the US. Having worked in video renting parlor for 12 years, I became very familiar with all Hollywood and Bollywood film starts and movies’ synopsis. Because of not having enough business knowledge, it went only three years after that it stopped and I faced loss in business and that was one devastating moment. As I was born in low financial background family, there was always lack of money to anything even emergency situation. At the same time, my mother got sick frequently because she had asthma. She had health problem often, and every time all seven siblings got united to do something for her together. I love my mom so much. She was one of the greatest human beings in this world for me. Although she was uneducated, she never hurt anyone and everybody loved her so much. One of her predominant gifts was a cooking. Everybody was crazy about her cooking and wanted to eat the food that she cooked. Unfortunately, on one bad day, asthma attacked my mother so badly, and she became ill again. She was taken to hospital. After couple of days of treatment, nothing worked out well, at least, she died in hospital. That was another devastated day in my life. After being shocked by my mother’s death, I squandered the whole entire year. I started looking for a job. After being in job market for couple of months, I finally found a job in casino Nepal. As I was badly hit by financial debt, I had to work diligently as well as making more money to pay off. The job was tough as I had not enough education after high school. Although I was only high school graduated person, my indomitable spirit got me through the financial debt.

            I started learning computer with zero knowledge in 2001. I used to be wondered and amazed by hearing the email and the internet in 90’s. Hearing those words generated the excitements to get into it. I like learning new stuff especially in technology. I started learning Microsoft’s visual basic programing language at first. It was really hard for me to understand the coding and its uses. I should have taken prerequisites courses, but I just directly jumped into it because there was nobody to guide me. I knew one thing is that only things get better or easier if I work harder, so I paid more attention in class studies and pushed myself to work even harder out of class. As I constantly studying harder, it became much easier and able to complete all online exams. Finally, I became a Microsoft’s certified system engineer (MCSE). Then I migrated to the United States in 2003. I started working in Kroger as a cashier, and that was my first job in the US. I worked there for only six months then I moved to IT job as computer technician in Woodstock, Georgia. After finishing my system engineering from Microsoft, It was my first computer job experience in the United States. It was very nice experience and was like a dream came true. I used to tell everybody that I could make fifty thousand dollars per year when I was in back home. I moved to AT&T as software analyst as it was better one. It was quite challenging and transition because that was new field in IT. Because of my determination and hard work, the manager selected me as one of the best employees and I got raised salary. I made the highest salary ever in my life so far. The life was going smoothly with full of happiness, but the life never treats the same. Another turning point had arrived when I got laid from AT&T.

As one door closes, definitely God opens another, and that may be even better one. Similarly, another opportunity knocked into my life that my further education which was one of my biggest dreams. I started my further education at Georgia Gwinnett College in B.S. Information Technology – Systems & Security in 2011. I must say, this is the greatest opportunity that living with technological age and completing education in the field of information technology would not have been greater dreams for me. Last summer, I joined GGC; my English essay writing was so bad, because I did not have basic idea, sentence structure, and grammar. I used to scare of writing, and my nervousness starts attacking me immediately when comes to writing. I took English 98 and reading 98. I had an A in English 98, but I could not make it through reading 98 in exit exam. Since my English is second language, I was suggested to change route into EAP by professor, Christine Reilly, so I took English 0080, 0081, and 0092 in Fall 2011 and continued on taking remaining English courses in order to take 1101. In these courses I exclusively learned all my English weakness such as sentence structure, grammar and concept of essay writing. Basically, I started applying all rules when writing essay. I closed focused on them, so they got me helped increasing writing. Finally I made it through all them so well. My writing became significantly increased by the time the courses finished. Now, I feel more comfortable on essay writing. I have discovered and realized that writing could be very interesting and amazing feeling after studying the books - English for Academic Writing, Top 20, and grammar sense 4. One of above books named English for Academic Writing has the great source of learning “how to write essay academically”, so these have been a tremendous helpful to me in term of writing. one of the great process that I went through in writing was  understanding of eight parts of English speeches. Simple sentence, compound sentence, and complex sentence were the biggest helpful of writing. My writing habit increased amazingly after learning noun phrases and adjective phrases. I have enhanced my English tremendously after studying at GGC. I have gained a lot of confidences on writing and speaking English. I feel so good while writing and speaking nowadays. I know that there will be more advance learning English as it’s never stopped. Since I love learning grammar, I am ready to learn more in upcoming courses. Anyhow my aim is now to be expert in English writing and speaking. Because I am currently in English 1101 after taking so many English classes, I am enjoying and trying to put more efforts in order to make it happen.

            In conclusion, What started child labor in the past, what got an opportunity in casino job, what faced financial crisis in the past, what got computer education, and finally what started IT professional job in the US all has made tremendous experience in my life that never be complains to God. The life teaches so many things that we never ponder. Even I started my life with child labor that circumstances taught me, being able to understand critically and come up with the great solution is an amazing achievement. As everybody looks after money, I never crave for the money. God working behind me and favored in each disaster financial situation is one of the connection to my God. In addition, working in casino Nepal was great experience that I still remember some of amazing life learning techniques that never dies to me. Going through a lot of difficult circumstances forced me to get into it and come up with the winning solution. The life living with purpose was so meaningful, and I am one of having greatest purposes of living life. Completing a degree in information technology—focus on system security, working in IT industry, and becoming an entrepreneur is my aim and purpose of life.
